Mohéli is the most remote of the 3 islands of the Comoros with barely 600 tourists a year.
So this is the island you want to go to if you want to be away from planet 🌏 for a while.
Laka Lodge is the place to stay. A little paradise in which even a hunted fugitive could get lost in. It feels like the end of the world. A place that has not yet been discovered. The tropical RAINFOREST 🌴🌴🌺💐 is a beautiful hike to hidden rock pools and waterfalls.

It is wild, undeveloped and sparsely populated here. The children in the village see my 📸 pick up their friends and pose voluntarily 🤩

Livingstone Bats
I open the window and look outside. The Indian Ocean glistens in the bright morning sun ☀️ 'Monsieur, tu est un Professeur?' With some surprise I look at the guide and confirm his question, "oui" The forest looks like Avatar! Just like in the movie 🎬 there are dream places, wandering paths and all kinds of fruits to be found 🥥🍑🍓🥕🍄 The guide takes my binoculars 🔭 and points upwards in a clearing ☝️ Giant black vampires fly above the trees. The 'Livingstone Bat' is only found in the Comoros and have a wingspan of 1.4 meters. They are among the largest bat dogs in the world 🌍

Snorkling and Diving
The engine roars. The captain is doing his best to control the waves ⛵
Dramatic, craggy islets off the golden coast of Moheli. "Look, two Manta Rays"
We pack our snorkel gear and jump into the Indian Ocean. The Manta Rays keep swimming around us for a while 🤩 It's fun between the colorful coral reefs
